   :: HCPPA UK - Welcome 2002

15 February 2002

Dear Hartleyites and friends,

HCPPA(UK) Branch 2002

We on behalf of the committee are sending our best wishes to all our members and friends. We had our first meeting on 3rd February 2002. We wish to thank the 2001 committee for their contribution and look forward to their continued support. We also wish to thank you the members who have attended the dinner and AGM on 03 November 2001 and unanimously appointed us to represent you for this year. Those of you who could not make it due to other commitments we urge you to join us in this year’s events.

In keeping with the good Hartley tradition, we set below our objectives and programme for the year 2002:
  •
  • We will endeavour to bring harmony to the Association.
  •
  • We will give you a minimum of three events to meet with your fellow Hartleyites, friends & family.
  •
  • We will listen to you and do our best to meet the majority of your wishes.
  •
  • We will further increase our association’s support to our Alma Mater. Over the previous years UK branch had sent £7,000 worth of help. A standing arrangement is in place to remit £600 a year. Therefore we need to do more fund raising.

In return what we ask is for your continued support and enthusiasm. Please come forward and make use of the events to free you from the mechanical life and enjoy going down the memory lane.

The programme of events planned for 2002 is as follows:
  • Fund Raising Event-Film show
  • March 31, 2002
  • Funday-Sports and cultural evening
  • 2nd Week July 2002
  • Life Style – Workshop
  • 2nd Week Sept. 2002
  • AGM/Dinner
  • November 16, 2002
  • Sports days organised by others
    such as TSSA, BTA.
  • To be Advised

We estimate the cost of attending at least three of the above events say for a family of four would be a meagre £75 maximum. We assure you this is small money compared to the enjoyment you will receive from participation. Let us be strong together and build on the foundations laid so far.

We have also enclosed a feed back form, and would appreciate it if you could spend a few minutes completing it. This would greatly assist us in providing you with the right kind of events that would appease to the majority of you.

We already have taken great care in choosing the event dates by allowing for school examinations, holidays and other function dates.

Please send in the completed form to the president's address as stated in the form.

    Thank you

    Yours truly,

    S. Sivakumaran
    President

    R. Raveendralingam
    Secretary
