President's Piece
Dr J.N. Chinniah, during his recent visit to Canada was very appreciative of our
association for being the leader in supporting our old school. I was very delighted to hear
this from the president of HCCPA, Colombo. I appeal to all our members to keep up our
good work.
I am fortunate to have as strong team to work with me for the current year. We
have our former president, secretary and treasurer continuing their good work. Five sub-
committees have been appointed and give responsibility to organize the different events.
The two important functions of the past pupils? association is to help the Alma
Mater and to bring all the Hartleyites together and provide fellowship for the members. I
am very happy to know that our school kids are presently doing very well in both G.C.E
(OL) and A.L. Though we have reached 95 in our life membership, I feel we need to add
another 25 more during the course of the year.
I am very willing to listen to any suggestions from the general membership
regarding the various activities we offer. Please feel free to call me at my office or home
(Office:416-266-5161, Home 416-293-0966)or send an e-mail to drashan@hotmail.com.
Finally, I wish to urge all Hartleyites who are not yet members of HCPPA in
Canada and U.S.A to join us and work with us in achieving our goals. This will add to
the strength of the association.
