Dear Hartleyites:

I regret to inform that Hartleyite Velayutham Shanmugavel (1970 O/L batch) passed away on Wednesday April 16, 2008 at the age of 52 at Maharagama Hospital due to cancer.

Shanmugavel is originally from Thumpalai and moved to Vavuniya for business.

He is the second son of Vallipuram Velayutham and Nageswary Velayutham (both Hartleyites), husband of Rathy, father of Harisshankar (20), Vithiyashankar (17) and Janani (15), brother of Ratnavel (Hartleyite 1968 O/L), Mrs. Sriranjini Saravanapava, Sagthivel (Hartleyite 1974 O/L batch) Singaravel, Chithravel, and Mrs. Nanthini Katheeswaran.

Funeral will take place on Thursday April 17, 2008 at Thonikal, Vavuniya, Sri Lanka.
