Dr. T. Thiyagendran, a Hartleyite of the 60's passed away on Satuarday 13 March 2004. He entered, from Hartley College, the Dental Faculty of the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya in the mid 60's and qualified as a Dental Surgeon. After a period of working as a Dental Surgeon in Sri Lanka me moved to work in Nigeria in a senior position and spent a number of happy years before moving on to Canada in the early 80's. From Canada he moved to the UK to do a postgraduate degree (PhD) in Dentistry and after completing the degree he joined the staff of the University College, London (UCL) and settled down in the UK with his family.
Dr. Thiyagendran is one of six boys in a family, five of whom are old boys of Hartley College. His Hatrtleyite brothers are Dr. T. Mahendran and Messrs T. Balendran, T. Gnanendran and T. Sivendran. He was a founder member and an ex-President of HCPPA Canada.
Dr. Thiyagendran is survived by his wife Abitha and two children Ajanthan (son) and Sashikala (daughter).
