There is an anniversary event/memorial meeting of Dr. Kunanandam will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2007.
He was a Hartleyite. Both him and Dr. Nithiyanandam (PHD Economics) were Prefects during their time in Hartley College. Kunandam is an honour for Hartley for the humanitarian work he has done for Tamils and we all Hartleyites can feel proud of.
The Canadian Medical association has helped in the past when he installed a CT scan (For the 1st Time) at the Jaffna Hospital. He was a real honour for Sri Lankan Tamil Doctors as well. He dedicated his life for helping the struggling Tamil patients and the medical students of Jaffna University when they needed a real doctor in Jaffna hospital. This is an event organized by a student who studied under him at Jaffna University and trying to show his appreciation and gratitude for him. There were articles about him in last week and week before Tamil papers.
